Sarah Marek

Multidisciplinary Artist

Sarah Marek is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice combines embroidery, textiles, painting, digital illustration, and 3D-printed sculpture to explore the relationship between the body and the self. Drawing from body horror and feminist craft traditions, Marek creates intimate forms that examine self-image and experiences of self-alienation within the female body. Their work brings soft, tactile materials woven with digitally fabricated forms, creating a tension between the handmade and the machine-made. Marek earned a B.S. in Visualization from Texas A&M University and is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Visualization at Texas A&M. Their work has been exhibited at the James R. Reynolds Gallery, and they received Graduate Third Place in the 2026 Artovation Statewide Student Competition for Delicate Material.
